[Bill Corcoran World War II scrapbook collection]. 1942-1946.

The collection contains a scrapbook created by William L. Corcoran as well as a number of loose items that came from the scrapbook. The collection concerns events taking place during World War II. The 349 page scrapbook is of newspaper clipping from every year of U.S. involvement in the war. Included in the scrapbook are maps of the European and Pacific theaters, political cartoons, as well as a number of artifacts, including German Flying Wings and German Cigarettes.

During World War II, William L. Corcoran collected newspaper clippings and created a scrapbook of the major events of the war. Corcoran joined the United States Army Combat Engineers and fought during the Korean War. Corcoran was a columnist for various Chicagoland newspapers for 40 years.
